Google Adds New Gambling Ad Certification Option Inside Ads Accounts

Google is introducing a new way for online gambling advertisers to apply for certification directly through their Google Ads accounts. The update was announced on October 15, 2026, with a gradual rollout beginning in October.

Advertisers who receive access to the feature can submit applications through the Policy section under Account in the Admin menu.

The existing Google Ads Help Center application process will remain available during the transition. Advertisers who cannot yet see the new option can continue using the previous method.

Google confirmed that the change will not affect certifications already issued or applications currently under review. Advertisers do not need to submit their requests again.

The company has not announced a completion date for the rollout or introduced new approval deadlines.

This is Google’s third certification process update in 2026. In May, the company moved applications for several cryptocurrency and financial product categories into Google Ads accounts.

A similar change followed in August for social casino games, with the Help Center application route scheduled to close in September.

However, Google has not announced plans to close the existing application channel for online gambling.

The certification requirements also remain unchanged. Gambling operators must still meet licensing conditions in each country they target, while affiliate and comparison websites must follow the relevant advertising policies.
